Ottawa Senators centre Rourke Chartier cleared waivers on Wednesday.
Chartier was then assigned to AHL Belleville, the team announced.
The 27-year-old has two goals and one assist in 34 games this season with the big club.
In 53 career NHL games with the San Jose Sharks and Senators, Chartier has three goals and one assist.
