NBA fines Timberwolves’ Edwards $50K for throwing chair that hit bystanders

The NBA has fined Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards $50,000 for “recklessly swinging” a chair that hit two bystanders after a playoff game on April 25 in Denver, the league announced Wednesday.

The league said it had deferred its review of the incident until the conclusion of a criminal investigation into Edwards’ conduct.

Charges against Edwards were dismissed last month.

After the Nuggets eliminated the Timberwolves 112-109 in Game 5 of their first-round series, Edwards left the court and appeared to throw a chair that hit two bystanders while on his way to the locker room.
