Dallas Stars defenceman Miro Heiskanen is not in concussion protocol and is considered day-to-day after taking a puck to the face and exiting Sunday’s Game 3 against the Seattle Kraken, head coach Peter DeBoer announced Monday according to The Athletic’s Saad Yousuf.
In the second period during Game 3, Kraken forward Tye Kartye fired one high from the top of the left circle and it appeared to hit Heiskanen under his visor, instantly sending the defenceman to the ice.
To add insult to injury, with Heiskanen down, Kraken forward Jordan Eberle picked up the loose puck and buried the first goal of the game to put Seattle up 1-0.
Heiskanen stayed down on the ice for a brief period before heading down the tunnel to the team’s dressing room.
Heiskanen has recorded seven assists with a plus-two rating in nine appearances during the playoffs.
Game 4 between the Stars and Kraken will be played Tuesday in Seattle.
