Lightning cancel Game 6 watch party in Tampa because of tornado warning

The Tampa Bay Lightning cancelled Saturday’s viewing party in the plaza around Amalie Arena for Game 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs because of tornado warning.

The team issued a statement via Twitter on Saturday, before the game.

“In the interest of public safety, tonight’s Plaza Watch Party has been cancelled due to the Tornado Warning issued by the NWS. Please stay safe Tampa Bay and Go Bolts!” read the statement.

The Maple Leafs lead the best-of-seven first-round series, 3-2.
