The Los Angeles Kings will be without forwards Blake Lizotte and Kevin Fiala for Game 3 Friday of their opening-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Edmonton Oilers.
Head coach Todd McLellan told reporters after Friday’s morning stake that Lizotte will miss the game due to a lower-body injury.
Lizotte had 34 points (11 goals and 23 assists) in 81 games during the regular season. The 25-year-old had zero points through the first two games against Edmonton.
Fiala has been out of the lineup since April 1 with a lower-body injury.
The 26-year-old winger finished second on the team in scoring during the regular season with 72 points (23 goals and 49 assists) in 69 games.
Neither player participated in the team’s morning skate. Gabriel Vilardi took over Lizotte’s spot at centre on the third line, between Alex Iafallo and Carl Grundstrom.
L.A. hosts Game 3, with the series tied 1-1. Watch live on Sportsnet or SN NOW beginning at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT.
