The Boston Bruins will make a goaltending switch ahead of their do-or-die Game 7 against the Florida Panthers. Jeremy Swayman will take over for Linus Ullmark between the pipes.
Swayman had 3:11 of ice time through the first six games of the first-round series, making one save on the only shot sent his way. He came on in the third period of Boston’s 6-2 win in Game 4 after Ullmark received a game misconduct penalty.
When asked about a potential goalie change during Friday’s morning skate, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery said to would be because “Linus didn’t make enough stops [in Game 6], that would be the reason to make a switch…plain and simple.”
The Presidents Trophy-winning Bruins, who have broken the all-time records for wins (65) and points (135) in a single season, look to avoid an early exit in Game 7.
The puck drop from TD Place is set for 6:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and SN NOW.
