Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has officially been ruled out for the remainder of Game 1 vs. the Miami Heat with a back contusion, the team confirmed on Sunday.
Antetokounmpo fell hard on his lower back in the first quarter after driving to the basket for a layup and running into Miami’s Kevin Love.
He got up slowly to take his free throws and stay in the game but was taken out just over two minutes later after picking up his second foul.
After heading to the locker room, he returned to the Bucks’ bench and rode the stationary bike to loosen back up. He returned to the game with under 10 minutes left in the second quarter but was promptly taken out just over a minute later.
He played 10 minutes before being taken out, scoring six points and grabbing three rebounds.
